TERM TIME CLUBS
Beginners
Small classes. We meet online on Zoom every week on Tuesdays. 4.30pm is the younger beginners and 5.00 is for older beginners with stronger reading ability. Once you book on the class you will get a booking email with a class link. We meet on Zoom which is worth downloading 10 minutes before class, if you've never used it before, to avoid disappointment.
This term we've been continuing to use the TPRS story method to learn from a Christmas story I wrote, pictured above. I use tailor-made resources and my years of experience to deliver comprehensible Spanish input in a child-centred approach.
It's a 30 minute class plus some weeks you'll get an email with ideas/suggestions to consolidate learning. It's lots of fun. Building up speaking and reading ability and fluency to be able to understand basic Spanish concepts and themes.
Term time for children from age 4 - 9 approx.
Children don't need to have any background in Spanish in order to join in. Classes are £4 per week, payable per half term and siblings receive a discount.
Intermediate
Small classes. We meet online on Zoom every week on Thursdays at 5pm. Once you book on the class you will get a booking email with a class link. We meet on Zoom which is worth downloading 10 minutes before class, if you've never used it before, to avoid disappointment. It's an hour long class.
We use a variety of resources, Calico stories, TPRS stories, tailor made resources, text books including the structured course book Uno Dos Tres...Ya!, online resources, PowerPoint presentations, songs, puzzles etc. There is more writing and reading in this class but it's still lots of silliness and fun. We focus on introducing and learning the verb endings, talking about sentence structure and building on comprehension.
Advanced
Small classes meeting in person. We meet in person every week on Wednesdays at 5pm. Advanced Spanish Club for Kids is for those with a better comprehension and reading ability. Advancing through KS3 level language. We study reading, writing, structuring sentences through TPRS-style stories, myths, adverts, lego, board games, and puzzles. We also use the TPRS books Look I Can Talk! This is a more academic class with plenty of reading and writing but we still have fun as much as possible!
